Workshop Proposals
Scope and Goal
The 2015 International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) Workshops provide a forum for a group of 20-50 participants to discuss topics in software engineering research and practice. ICSE Workshops will provide opportunities for researchers to exchange and discuss scientific and engineering ideas at a stage before they have matured to warrant conference or journal publication. ICSE Workshops also serve as incubators for scientific communities that form and share a particular research agenda.
ICSE 2015 Workshops may be either one or two days long and may be held before or after the main conference. Participation in ICSE workshops is typically open. ICSE workshops can produce workshop proceedings to be published in the electronic ICSE proceedings.
Proposal Submissions
Proposals must not exceed five pages in length, must follow the ICSE 2015 formatting and submission instructions and must include the following information, in the order specified:
4 pages
- full contact information for all organizers of the workshop and main contact person;
- desired length of the workshop (i.e., one or two days);
- desired workshop date(s) and scheduling constraints (workshops can be scheduled before or after the main conference);
- outline of the themes and goals of the workshop, including a brief abstract (less than 200 words) intended for the ICSE 2015 web site;
- concise motivation of the workshop's relevance to the field of software engineering;
- participant solicitation and selection process, including whether the workshop will be open or closed;
- desired minimum and maximum number of workshop participants, expected number of participants, and (in case of previously held workshops) number of registered attendees and web site for previous editions of the workshop;
- structure of the workshop and plans for generating and stimulating discussion;
- links to preliminary web site of the workshop and call for papers;
- a list of program committee members, including proposed and committed members; any equipment, room capacity, or other logistic constraints;
- a brief description of each organizer's background, including relevant past experience in organizing conferences and workshops.
1 page
- your call for papers.
All proposals must conform at time of submission to the ICSE 2015 formatting and submission instructions, and must not exceed 4 pages, including all text, references, appendices and figures, plus 1 extra page for the call-for-papers.
Proposals must be submitted electronically at: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icse15workshops
Workshop proposals must be submitted electronically by the deadline below.
Review and Evaluation Criteria
Workshop proposals will be reviewed by the ICSE 2015 Workshop Committee according to the following criteria:
- The potential to advance the state of software engineering research and practice
- The organizers' commitment to stimulate discussion at the workshop
- The organizers' experience and ability to lead a successful workshop Timeliness and expected interest in the workshop topics
- The balance and synergy between all ICSE 2015 events
For Accepted Workshops
For all accepted workshops, ICSE 2015 strongly recommends uniform deadlines for workshop paper submission, notification of authors, and camera-ready copies, as follows:
- Paper submissions: January 23, 2015
- Notification of authors: February 18, 2015
- Camera-ready copies: February 27, 2015
Note that the Camera ready deadline of February 27, 2015 is mandatory for those workshops that will opt for publication in IEEE proceedings.
- Workshop papers must follow the ICSE 2015 Format and Submission Guidelines and must have a maximum length of seven (7) pages.
- ICSE 2015 will not pay for registration, travel, or other arrangements for workshop organizers or any of their invited speakers or guests.
- All participants, including workshop organizers, keynote speakers, and invited guests, must register for the workshop.
- Workshop organizers cannot submit (refereed) papers to their own workshop.
